Headed into night one with strong winds forecast on the inside tonight. Team Malolo pulling ahead for now – making good on their gamble to enter Georgia Strait through Active Pass. Looks like team Pure and Wild will be in the open Pacific by dawn.

Georgia Strait South of Nanaimo: Strong wind warning in effect. Wind northwest 5 to 15 knots increasing to northwest 15 to 25 after midnight. Wind diminishing to light Friday afternoon then becoming southeast 5 to 15 early Friday evening.
Juan de Fuca Strait – Western Entrance: Wind light increasing to west 15 to 20 knots late Friday morning then diminishing to southwest 5 to 15 Friday evening.
